Welcoming the next class of security leaders to the Modern CISO Network: Board Book

I’m thrilled to introduce the second edition of the Modern CISO Network: Board Book, a directory of 216 experienced CISOs and cybersecurity leaders ready to share their expertise with corporate boards.

Since we launched the first edition of the book in June, bringing CISOs to the boardroom has only become increasingly important. New rules from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) will go into effect next week, requiring companies to disclose impactful cybersecurity incidents. In October, the SEC sued SolarWinds and its CISO for allegedly misleading investors about cybersecurity risks leading up to the infamous 2020 cyber attack. And now we’re seeing high-profile breaches cost companies like 23andMe and Clorox millions of dollars.

These challenges are complex and expensive, regulations are constantly changing, and boards need to be ready to respond quickly and accurately. But an effective response is only possible with the right experts by your side.

The second edition of the CISO Board Book is here

We’re excited to release the enhanced second edition of the Modern CISO Network: Board Book, which gives you access to a network of cybersecurity professionals ready to provide their expertise. With their deep understanding of cybersecurity and its intersection with business strategy, these CISOs can help prepare leaders to make informed, strategic, and secure decisions.

This edition expands our directory with 75 newly-added seasoned global CISOs and cybersecurity leaders at companies such as Mercedes Benz, Rolls-Royce Power Systems, and Hugo Boss. With a broader array of professionals that cover the full spectrum of cybersecurity challenges and innovations, we hope to make it easier for you to find the expert your business needs.

To further amplify the importance of the role of the CISO, we are showcasing these board-ready CISOs in a full-page feature in the New York Times, bringing deserved recognition to their expertise and readiness to contribute at the highest levels of corporate decision-making.

Let’s continue the positive momentum

Since our initial launch a few months ago, the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Leaders across the globe are recognizing the value of this initiative:

Why we champion cybersecurity diversity

One of the many reasons that I’m proud to work at Lacework is our commitment to diversity, particularly in changing the face of cybersecurity leadership. We launched Secured By Women earlier this year to celebrate and recognize the exceptional women leaders in cybersecurity. I’m extremely excited to share that more than 20 percent of profiles in the Board Book are from leaders who identify as women.

For this edition, we’ve partnered with Equilar, a Silicon Valley-based leader in executive intelligence, and its Equilar Diversity Network (EDN). This collaboration offers a unique platform for member profiles to be featured in the Equilar ExecAtlas database, a premier technology solution for board searches. This partnership aligns with our commitment to diversifying boardroom conversations with cybersecurity expertise.
